Adjusting Your Range
Adjust your range within the Brick app by going to Settings > Devices > tapping your Brick Night > Range.
If you are currently in a Brick session, leave the range until you are no longer Bricked. If you are not able to leave the range, use an Emergency Unbrick by going to Settings > Emergency Unbrick.
Double check that your settings are configured as intended:
- Bluetooth should be on and permissions should be enabled. If you turned it off at any point, Brick Night will stay in the same state (i.e., Bricked or Unbricked) until you turn bluetooth back on.
- Time windows and modes can be adjusted within the app by going to Routines > Spaces > tapping your Brick Night
Here are a few tips if your device isn’t behaving as expected:
- Keep your Brick Night unobstructed from furniture, liquids, or metal objects (such as electronics or shelving). These variables can reduce signal strength, making it difficult to determine where your phone is in proximity to the Brick Night.
- When adjusting your range, keep your phone at waist level, facing the direction of the Brick Night.
- Brick Night’s Bluetooth signal can sometimes reach through walls. For example, if your Brick Night is in your bedroom which shares a wall with your living room, the signal may extend into your living room. If that happens, try adjusting the range or moving the Brick Night farther from the shared wall until you find the right set up that works for your space.
As you adjust your range, keep in mind:
- Brick Night’s range has a buffer of 3-5 feet around the boundary you set. Detection is a little slower when you walk out of range, so it may take a few extra steps or seconds before your status updates.
- It will typically take less than 10 seconds for your phone to detect a range change after you move. In rare circumstances, it can take up to 45 seconds.
